At the end of the 2016 International Franchise Expo (IFE), Dr. John Hayes interviewed Tom Portesy, president and CEO of MFV Exhibitions, producer of the IFE. MFV also owns FranchiseExpo.com, a portal that includes many franchise opportunities and a variety of resources for people who want to buy a franchise.

While the IFE is the premier franchise expo in the USA, it’s an annual event and it won’t return again to the Javits Center in New York City until June 2017. However, if you want to buy a franchise now, you’re not going to wait a year to look for an opportunity, and you don’t have to.

Regional expos in the USA

MFV Exhibitions produces numerous franchise expos domestically and internationally. The next two expos in the USA occur in Denver in October and Dallas in January.

But MFV is also producing franchise expos across Europe and in Mexico City.

The IFE will return to the Javits Center June 15-17, 2017. The event includes up to 400 franchisor exhibitors with investments that range from below $10,000 to more than $1-million. About 10 percent of the exhibitors come from other countries and are looking to expand their brands into the USA.

IFE attracts people from 120+ countries

Some 15,000 to 20,000 people attend the IFE every year, and they come from more than 120 countries, including all 50 states in the USA. Many visitors attend multiple educational programs during the IFE. The event includes 75 seminars and paid symposia that teach the steps involved in buying a franchise, or franchising an existing business. Most of the seminars are free.
